ANSI Pitch

ANSI Pitch      English roller chain and sprockets are categorized according to ANSI B 29.1M. The number can be used to identify pitch in the following way: the first digits identify the pitch in 1/8" increments, and the last digit is 0 for standard proportions, 1 for lightweight chain, and 5 for rollerless bushed chain. A #41 sprocket is therefore for 1/2"-pitch lightweight chain, a #120 sprocket is for 1-1/2" pitch chain, etc.

Dimensions

   Number of Teeth:

Number of teeth for a specified pitch will determine sprocket size and drive ratio.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Bore Diameter:

Diameter of center bore for shaft mounting.

   Hub Diameter (if applicable):

     Outside diameter of desired hub.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Outside Diameter:

This is the diameter of the sprocket including teeth. It is primarily of concern if clearance is an issue.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Length Through Bore:

The total width of the sprocket, including hub(s).

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Weight:

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
Material

Material      Material selection is dependent on factors such as required power transmission and speed, environmental factors such as temperature and exposure to corrosive elements, and other factors such as noise generation. Consult with a sprocket manufacturer on a specific application to optimize material selection.
   Your choices are...

   All Plastic

Teeth, web, and hub are all plastic; used where component weight is a design consideration, for quiet running, and in light-to medium duty applications.

   Plastic Teeth / Metal Insert

Plastic teeth allow for lightness and corrosion resistance.  Metal is used for the hub or hub insert to allow closer tolerance fit onto shafts, press-on applications, etc.

   Steel - Standard

A commercial iron that contains carbon in any amount up to about 1.7 percent as an essential alloying constituent. It is malleable when under suitable conditions, and is distinguished from cast iron by its malleability and lower carbon content.

   Steel - Hardened

Steel may be hardened in a number of ways, including a variety of quenching techniques in oil and water, being passed through induction chambers, etc. Quickly cooling steel during processing freezes, traps and packs the carbon atoms inside the shrunken iron crystals, thereby producing a very hard and brittle metal. Although very hard, it is less resistant to shock or impact.

   Steel - Stainless

Stainless steel refers to a broad family of steels that is chemical and corrosion resistant; is typically not hardened or hardenable to the same extent as standard carbon steels.

   Other

     Unlisted or specialized sprocket material.

Idler Style

   Idler Sprocket?

Idler Sprockets rotate freely while taking up slack and providing tension to a chain drive system. They are used as tensioners and occasionally to provide chain clearance around a machine component.

Search Logic:      "Required" and "Must Not Have" criteria limit returned matches as specified. Products with optional attributes will be returned for either choice.
   Idler Style:
   Your choices are...

   Bronze bushing

Bronze bushings are typically impregnated with oil.

   Ball Bearing

Center ball bearing allows idler free rotation.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
Hub Style
