The DL06 is AutomationDirect's first micro PLC to combine its fixed I/O of 20 inputs and 16 outputs with four option card slots for expansion (discrete, analog, communication modules), all in the same package. With the DL06, you can use the same PLC panel layout for all applications from 36 to 100 I/O.

The DL06 CPU offers PID capability, high-speed counting, floating point number handling, and an instruction set very similar to our D2-260 CPU.

Many powerful instructions are included. All DL06 PLCs have two built-in communication ports that can be used for programming, operator interface, networking, etc. One of the DL06 ports is a multi-function port capable of RS232C, RS422, or RS485 communication.

Available in nine models

The DL06 micro PLC line includes nine models to choose from in either AC-powered or DC-powered models. With its wide range of power supply capabilities (100-240 VAC and 12-24 VDC), the DL06 won't need an additional transformer in most applications. This makes the DL06 PLC a great fit for even high voltage, 220-240 VAC applications or remote 12 VDC applications, and everything in between.

Built-in communications

The DL06 PLC includes two serial communication ports on all models.

Port 1 supports programming and operator interface connectivity, while Port 2 can be used for RS-232/ 422/ 485 networking, or ASCII in/out to other devices. This allows connectivity to an operator interface and networking to an AC drive or another PLC, all at the same time. Supports industry-standard MODBUS RTU protocol (both master and slave on Port 2 up to 38.4 K).

Eight PID loops with autotune

The DL06 PLC supports its great analog capabilities with PID and floating point math at no additional charge.

High-speed counting and pulse outputs

Selected DL06 micro PLCs offer built-in high-speed input features (on units with DC inputs) and pulse output features (on units with DC outputs). Use the DL06 PLC to solve a diverse range of positioning and high-speed machine control applications. With the DL06, there is no need to purchase a separate motion controller or programmable limit switch (PLS) if your application only includes one simple motion requirement.

(NOTE: Only one high-speed I/O feature may be in use at one time. You cannot use a high-speed input and the pulse output at the same time.)

The discrete I/O option cards allow the DL06 PLC to expand with the needs of your application for just a few dollars more.

Combine our 16-point discrete output modules with ZIPLink relay modules to control high current loads, such as air solenoids or hydraulic valves.

The analog modules are among the smallest and lowest-priced in the industry. There are several models to choose from, with flexible features. Use an analog option card for speed monitoring of interlocked equipment, or control an AC drive remotely.

F0-04RTD - Four channel RTD temperature input module. 0.1 degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit resolution. Automatically converts type Pt100, jPT100, Pt1000, Cu10, Cu25 or Ni120 RTD signals into direct temperature readings. Diagnostic features include detection of thermocouple burnout or disconnection.

F0-04THM - Four channel thermocouple temperature input module. 0.1 degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit resolution. Automatically converts type E, J, K, R, S, T, B, N, or C thermocouple signals into direct temperature readings. Diagnostic features include detection of thermocouple burnout or disconnection.

F0-04TRS - 4 point 5-30 VDC or 5-125 VAC isolated relay output module. 2 Form A (SPST) relays, 2 Form C (SPDT) relays, 4 isolated commons, 3A/point, replaceable fuse, removable terminal block.

F0-08SIM - 8 point input simulator module for DL05 and DL06 DirectLOGIC PLCs. 5 VDC base power required (1 mA).

NOTE: The DL05 CPU's discrete feature for the F0-08SIM module requires DirectSOFT32 Version 3.0c (or later) and firmware version 4.90 (or later). The DL06 requires DirectSOFT32 version V4.0, build 16 (or later) and firmware version 1.80 (or later).

H0-ECOM100 - DL05/ DL06 Ethernet Communications Module. 10/ 100 Mb with auto-detect, supports TCP/IP, UDP/IP, IPX and MODBUS TCP/IP application layer protocol.

H0-PSCM - Profibus Slave Communication Module. You can now add a DL05 or DL06 PLC sub-system to a Profibus controller network. The H0-PSCM module allows the DL05 or DL06 PLC sub-system to be linked with a Profibus master controller. The H0-PSCM module transfers blocks of I/O or register memory data between a Profibus master and a DL05 or DL06 PLC. The user can choose up to four blocks of data to be transferred.

H0-CTRIO - High-Speed Counter Interface Module. This DL05 and DL06 high-speed counter module (H0-CTRIO) is affordably priced and offers a high-performance, feature-rich solution for counting input and pulse output. Key features include:

- One quadrature encoder input or two 100 kHz high-speed counters (32-bit count range for +/-2.1 billion counts)

- One programmable pulse output supports Trapezoid, Velocity, S-curve, or program controlled Dynamic Positioning and Dynamic Velocity, or four discrete isolated outputs for responding to counter presets (128 pre-sets)

- Pulse catch feature (allows the module to read four inputs, each having a pulse width as small as 0.1 ms)

- Programmable filters for reading up to two input signals to ensure input signal integrity

- Can use multiple modules in local DL06 option slots
